Children’s Healthcare Of Atlanta

Our Concussion Team is Here For You

Patient and Doctor

Because a child’s brain is still developing, any head injury could be serious. It’s natural for kids to climb, jump and occasionally soar through the sky. So injuries are inevitable. It's important to know the signs of a concussion so your child can get the care he needs.

The concussion team at Children's works with each child’s primary care doctor to develop the best possible plan of care.

Hear Dr. Reisner and Dr. Marshall discuss everything from concussion symptoms to steps towards recovery on Q100 radio.

Your child does not have to lose consciousness (pass out) to have a concussion. Signs include:

  • Confusion
  • Clumsy movement or dizziness
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Memory loss
  • Tiredness
  • Upset stomach

Resting the mind is important when recovering from a concussion.
