Children’s is pleased to welcome its newest member of the Volunteer Services team. Highly trained in the art of care and skilled in fetching smiles from young patients, the golden retriever/yellow Labrador mix Casper visits patients in their rooms and travels to many areas of the hospital.
Children rehabilitating from injuries might throw a ball, brush Casper or even walk him to practice their motor skills. On an emotional level, children who are homesick for their own dogs can benefit from Casper’s calm and loving nature. Suffering from juvenile cataracts that prevented him from being a full service dog, Casper knows all too well the effects a health problem can have on a young pup’s life. Learn more about a day in the life of our newest Volunteer Services team member.
