Performing more than 1,000 pediatric transplants since our program started, the Children’s Transplant Center consistently ranks among the highest volume pediatric transplant centers in the country.*
Why do volumes matter?
When choosing a hospital for your child, you want an experienced team. Statistics show that centers that perform a higher number of transplants often have better outcomes.* Higher volumes also mean that we can provide staff, hospital space, research and advanced procedures that are completely dedicated to our transplant patients.
Why are outcomes so important?
We want to measure how our patients are doing after their transplants. By tracking patient and graft (a transplanted organ, such as a liver) survival outcomes, we are able to make sure we are providing high-quality care.
By participating in the Scientific Registry of Transplant Patients (SRTR), we can compare our volumes and outcomes to national averages and other transplant centers.
