Camp Krazy Legs

A Summer Camp for Children
and Teens with Spina Bifida

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Camp Twin Lakes and the Spina Bifida Association of Georgia have partnered to offer Camp Krazy Legs. This summer day camp and overnight camp is for children and teens with spina bifida who meet the eligibility criteria.

Every child needs to feel special. A child with spina bifida is no different. We promote positive self-esteem with fun and learning. The only requirements are to laugh, play, grow and explore.

Our progressive program helps children and teens learn, develop and practice independent living skills in a fun camp format, using games, group activities, workshops, sports and community outings to teach and reinforce these life skills.

2013 Camp Dates

  • Day Camp: Monday, June 10 to Friday, June 14
  • Overnight Camp: Sunday, July 7 to Friday, July 12

  • CAMPERS - Day Camp and Overnight Camp - ages 5 to 18

      - Camper Fee: $100. The cost to Children's and Camp Twin Lakes to send a child to camp is approximately $1,000; however, we want every child to be able to attend. If the cost of camp is an issue, please indicate this on your application. Donations are always welcome.

      - Medical Staff: Camp will have clinical staff available 24 hours a day. Our volunteers consist of staff from Children's, as well as community volunteers committed to making camp a special weekend for your child.

Parent Volunteers: While we are thankful parents have expressed interest in volunteering at camp, it is camp policy that parents do not volunteer during the camp session. We strongly believe camp is an excellent opportunity for your child to gain independence and self-esteem. If you would like to volunteer before camp, your time and skills would be greatly appreciated.
