Thousands of children—hundreds of them newly diagnosed each year—depend on the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service to treat their diseases and care for them and their families. Our patient population includes:
- More than 350 new childhood cancer patients annually
- More than 700 patients with various pediatric blood disorders annually
- More than 1,600 children with sickle cell disease
- Nearly 1,000 childhood cancer survivors who are at least two years off therapy
- More than 29,000 outpatient visits and more than 17,000 inpatient days annually
- More than 800 pediatric blood and marrow transplants (BMTs)
