Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Launches Express Check-In Tool for Patients


ATLANTA - Nov. 18, 2013 - Children's Healthcare of Atlanta recently launched a new tool to save patient families time during their next visit. Check-In Express is a self-service, appointment check-in system that will allow returning patients to review and update contact and insurance information print appointment details, make payments, sign consent forms and get directions.

Children's is among the first in Atlanta to offer this convenient, self-service technology," said Florence Davis, Director of Patient Access. "This technology has been widely used in other industries, and studies show consumers appreciate the convenience, shorter wait times and ability to take charge of their own data." 

The self-service kiosks are located at Egleston and Scottish Rite hospitals, as well as two locations in the Children's Medical Office Building at Scottish Rite. It is available for returning patients with outpatient appointments.

Children's manages more than 815,000 outpatient patient visits annually, approximately 2,200 each day. This tool aims to provide check-in efficiencies and reduction in wait times, greater data accuracy, improved customer satisfaction and increased autonomy and privacy for patients.
